Palaszczuk Government thanks Dominic Nolan for service to sugar industry

Sugar industry leader Dominic Nolan has announced he is leaving after nine years as chief executive of the Australian Sugar Milling Council.

Acting Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Dr Anthony Lynham thanked Mr Nolan for his service and praised him for his dedication, passion and advocacy.

“Mr Nolan has been a committed advocate for the milling sector during a period of significant change across the Queensland sugar industry,” Dr Lynham said.

“He has demonstrated a superb capacity to work collaboratively with divergent stakeholders to achieve outcomes and his success can be attributed to his professionalism, integrity and tenacity.

“Mr Nolan’s leadership role in transforming the sugar industry’s research and development priorities and funding arrangements was a key driving force behind the establishment of Sugar Research Australia.

“His frank advice to the Parliament on the implications of the new marketing arrangements for the sugar milling sector was also greatly appreciated.

“On behalf of the Palaszczuk Government and the industry I thank Mr Nolan for his leadership and wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
