FREE technical building advice for Kingaroy contractors

Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today urged building contractors in Kingaroy and the surrounding region to make the most of a FREE Contractor Education Seminar next week (Thurs, 12 Nov), to gain an edge during these tough times.

Mr Schwarten said the Building Services Authority and Construction Skills Queensland had teamed up to provide the program, which combines DVDs and advice from technical experts about common building defects.

“We are facing tough times at the moment, but many contractors in the building industry have only ever known good financial times,” Mr Schwarten said.

“These seminars provide valuable information about how to avoid costly defects and common building pitfalls by complying with best practice methods,” he said.

“Doing the job right the first time saves contractors time and money.”

Mr Schwarten encouraged local builders to take advantage of the opportunity to boost their skills and their business.

“These shows cover everything from timber framing, floor tiling and managing your business through challenging financial times,” he said.

“We are committed to supporting our building industry, and ensuring ALL Queenslanders have access to this important advice.

“I encourage all contractors in the Kingaroy region to take advantage of this free show to improve their knowledge and get an edge over competitors.”
