Vote for Qld’s top businesses in new awards program

Voting is now open for the Premier of Queensland’s Smart Business Awards which will recognise the State’s top businesses and entrepreneurs.

“The Premier of Queensland’s Smart Business Awards will look back on Queensland’s 150 years and recognise businesses and entrepreneurs that have made a significant impact on the State,” Ms Bligh said.

“Queensland is home to many great Australian and internationally-renowned businesses and we’re asking Queenslanders and the business community to nominate these companies for a Smart Business Award.

“There are so many fields in which Queensland companies are leading the way – primary industries, transportation, biopharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, professional services, tourism and food production – just to name a few.

“Some companies established even before Federation while Queensland was still a colony are still in operation today – not an easy feat in the world of business.”

There are six categories which businesses can be nominated for, including one overall category.

“I ask all Queenslanders to get involved in voting for businesses you think deserve recognition as great Queensland companies,” Ms Bligh said.

Voting is open until 30 September via www.smartbusinessawards.qld.gov.au
