Groups urged to apply for grants before December 31 cut-off

Women's Minister Desley Boyle is urging community groups to submit grant applications for the Office for Women's Partnership Grants program before it closes.

Ms Boyle said the $500,000 grants program was introduced in August to help community groups and industry improve areas where women still faced disadvantages.

"We've offered almost 100 grants to groups across the State for projects that help women balance work and family, improve their health, encourage them to be leaders and stretch their budgets," Ms Boyle said.

"The Beattie Government is committed to improving the status of women in Queensland and creating opportunities for women.

"There are many areas which need attention and many groups with great ideas.

"I urge groups to lodge applications for grants before the December 31 cut-off."
